Spanish Copa dey Rey Update

Advance report. Barcelona will meet Real Madrid in this season's edition of the Spanish cup after the Catalans beat Málaga 2-4 on Thursday evening! Barça needed to win the return leg after the 2-2 draw in the Nou Camp last week, but although Pedro and then Piqué twice gave them the lead, goals from Joaquín and Santa Cruz levelled it both times. However strikes late on from Iniesta and Messi settled it in favour of Tito Vilanova's side, and they now visit the Bernabeu stadium for next Wednesday's first leg. Earlier in the evening Atlético Madrid won through to the last four after an aggregate 3-1 win against Betis. Diego Costa added to Atleti's two goal lead from the first leg with the opener on the stroke of half time, and Molina's last minute penalty came too late to change the result. Simeone's team will play Betis's city neighbours Sevilla, with the first leg in the Calderón stadium next Thursday. (24.01.13) Advance report. Real Madrid and Sevilla are the first teams to make it in to the semi-finals of the cup after both won through their quarter-final ties on Wednesday evening. Real Madrid went in to their second leg at Valencia with a two goal advantage, and a 1-1 draw on the night was enough, with Benzema putting them ahead before Tino Costa equalized. Coentrao and Di María will miss the first leg of the semi-final though after both were sent off, and Casillas may also be out after picking up an injury to his hand which caused him to be substituted early on. Earlier in the evening Sevilla cruised through 4-0 against a depleted Zaragoza side, who like Madrid also had two players sent off. Negredo netted two including a penalty, and Rakitic and Manu del Moral were the other scorers.
