Arsenal star Mesut Ozil named German national team player of the year
Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil has
been voted as the German national team’s player of the year for 2015.
The 27-year-old claimed
45.9% of the vote, with over 51,000 fans naming him as their top player
over the 12 months.
Bayern Munich’s Thomas
Muller and Cologne’s Jonas Hector came second and third with 15.9% and 13.6% of
the vote respectively.
Ozil featured in eight
of Die Mannschaft’s nine games during the year, managing eight assists. He has
continued this form for his club, acquiring 16 assists for the Gunners in the
Premier League this season.
This is the fourth time
that the former Real Madrid man has won the award, winning it three times in a
row before Toni Kroos took it last year.
